Harry joined in February 2015. Prior to this, he studied for a BA in History at Cardiff University, winning the prize for Medieval Studies in his final year. Harry works mainly in political research, but also provides other support for the Middlemarch team.
Studying History has positioned Harry well to be an effective political researcher and has granted him the ability to place events and information into their wider context. It has also instilled in him an appreciation for varying perspectives and the different ways in which an issue can be approached. Debating and sharing ideas with his coursemates has made him adept at communicating in a clear and persuasive manner.
UK politics fascinate Harry, and this led him to attend the electoral count for Mid Dorset and North Poole while studying Politics in 2010. More recently, he campaigned on behalf of the successful PPC in the same seat in the 2015 general election. Harry keenly follows national developments, and hopes to become more involved in and knowledgeable of the local scene as a result of his work with Middlemarch.
In his spare time, Harry supports Southampton FC and Hampshire CC. He has recently started playing golf, with varied results.
