Cratus Communities celebrates its one year anniversary at Arborfield Green Summer Fete

27.07.18

Cratus Communities organised their first summer fete of the year at Arborfield Green, bringing local families together to enjoy a day of summer sunshine.

Arborfield Green is a garden village development being brought forward by Crest Nicholson, it has outline planning consent for 2000 new homes, a district centre, and primary and secondary schools. Arborfield Green is a former army garrison site therefore integration between existing private residents, remaining service families, developers and new residents is key for community development and community cohesion.

The Summer Fete, which marks one year of Cratus Communities in Arborfield Green, was enjoyed by 300 residents and provided local businesses and community groups with the opportunity to engage with residents. As well as sharing information with attendees, stall holders were invited to provide an activity for the younger residents of Arborfield Green.

Activities on the day included a penalty shoot-out, fair games such as hook-a-duck, face painting, arts and crafts, and more. Refreshments were available from a local ice-cream van, a Primary School PTA, and a selection of local businesses, serving up sweet treats and fresh drinks. Some families preferred to accept the team’s invitation to BYOP – Bring Your Own Picnic – in true Garden Village style.

The team were on hand on the day to ensure the smooth running of the event, and to man a stall on behalf of the client. This hosted a game to entertain residents and enabled the team to answer queries, provide a progress update, gather feedback, and promote both the client and the garden village to new, existing, and potential future members of the community.

Cratus Communities are dedicated to meaningful resident engagement, and the calendar of exciting new local events is one tool which helps us to achieve this goal. Across sites we provide day to day communications, working closely with project teams and partners to find creative and timely solutions to issues that arise. Effective problem solving is a key success of the Communities Team, as we support the project team to track and resolve issues, whilst keeping all affected parties up to date with the latest information.
